The Book takes place in 1939.People are probably thinking about the book is all about the world war but it's on based on world war.12- year- old Rill Foss and her four sibling lived with a magical family near the Mississippi river. One stormy night when her father rushed her mother to the hospital some strangers came and kidnapped those kids. Those men were hired by Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country.
